The New Orbital Highway Contract 2 (NOH2) stemmed from the intention to bypass Doha City by connecting Salwa Road and North Relief Road. NOH2 consists of 10 lanes (5 in each direction) for light vehicles with additional Collectors and Distributor roads. Four separate dedicated truck lanes (2 in each direction) run parallel to the Orbital from Salwa Road to Junction 5 where a 320m long cut and cover tunnel splits away from the light vehicle carriageway towards Junction 12 Dukhan interchange
